General Summary of Duties

The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Director of Human Resources and assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions. This position carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, payroll, administrative and clerical services.


Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 2 years work experience required in human resources
  • Knowledge of business office procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office programs - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and documents
  • Knowledge of payroll processing procedures
  • Must be a self-starter, self-managing, and self-motivated
  • Must be team and company oriented

Duties of Job

  • Responsible for ensuring all staffing needs are met in a timely manner
  • Conduct new employee orientation
  • Responsible for day-to-day transactions such as processing new hire paperwork, employee data changes and ensuring accuracy of information entered
  • Benefits administration, recordkeeping and review
  • Complete verifications of employment
  • Process FMLA, disability claims, and garnishments
  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting
  • Process semi-monthly payroll
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted Human Resource practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
